The Recyclaw

The Recyclaw™ reimagines recycling as an interactive, fan-driven experience. Designed as a retro claw machine with a sustainable twist, The Recyclaw transforms Ball aluminum cups and cans into currency, inviting fans to recycle, play, and win. Originally launched at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado, the activation turned post-event recycling into an engaging moment, rewarding participants with prizes ranging from team merchandise to tickets and signed gear. Its success quickly propelled The Recyclaw beyond the arena, taking it on tour to events like the Outside Festival, where it continued to blend sustainability, play, and brand storytelling in new environments.

A growing experience

Ball Arena

At Ball Arena, home to the Denver Nuggets, Colorado Avalanche, and Colorado Mammoth, The Recyclaw became a natural extension of game-day energy. Fans stuck around after the final buzzer to recycle Ball aluminum cups and cans, turning a simple sustainable action into a memorable part of the event experience. By pairing environmental impact with excitement and rewards, The Recyclaw helped drive participation, awareness, and a deeper connection between fans, teams, and sustainability.

SoFi Stadium

The momentum carried west to SoFi Stadium, where The Recyclaw delivered the same high-impact experience for Los Angeles Rams and Chargers fans. Recycling became a post-game ritual as fans fed the machine their cups and took their shot at team-branded prizes. The activation proved its scalability, showing that the concept could thrive in different markets, venues, and fan cultures, while keeping sustainability front and center.
